Thanks for the rec! I borrowed this from the library on your recommendation and very much enjoyed it. I do see what you mean about the choice Helen makes at the end, and you're right that the book ending soon after means it's pretty easy to shrug off. As a light, fast read it hit all the right notes and it was lovely to have that kind of detective noir to be lesbians :) I will now, in turn, rec it at my queer book club.
