Yeah, my reaction was similar. I enjoyed myself, but it felt like the book never really fully came together; it had a cool set-up and an interesting premise and a lot of fun stuff, but it never really delved into most of it, and while I respect a good bit of everything-and-the-kitchen-sink worldbuilding, I think this one needed to either have fewer elements thrown in or the connections between them drawn a bit more strongly. Maybe it just needed one more round of editing, I don't know. Basically, fun but a bit superficial and a bit scattered.
