That's the one thing that frustrates me about romances. Once the initial bloom of a romance is wrapped up and done, the writer is expected to move onto another set of characters (possibly in the world) instead of staying with those characters in-depth. They may be allowed to touch on the other characters, but staying with them isn't generally allowed.
